I’m not sure what kind of a yarn the seaman is spinning here, but I have to imagine it’s been a harrowing time at sea! This is a masterclass in ambient drone; vibrant, cinematic, and rich with noise.

Followers of Aidan Baker's work will no doubt be aware of a rich history of music he's made to accompany film, work he's done with a particularly visual appeal. That work continues on "Homo Sapiens", a fascinating drone-based collection meant to accompany the documentary by Nikolaus Geyrhalter. Deeply immersive and fully engaging, Baker's work serves as both an excellent soundtrack and an excellent musical work separate from Geyrhalter's film.
